Kay Ch’ien


Kay is a member of the Edith Yang Team at Douglas Elliman Real Estate, where she skillfully guides buyers, sellers and investors through the complicated New York City property market. She brings her legal and investment experience to the real estate process and her clients benefit from her dedication and attention to detail. 

Prior to entering the real estate business, Kay was a practicing attorney. As a member of the Mergers and Acquisitions group at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, she worked on multi-million to billion dollar M&A, capital markets and private fund transactions. After Simpson, she joined the Entertainment group at Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz, where she focused on motion picture and television work, representing award-winning filmmakers, television producers, film financiers, and television networks.

Kay is also a passionate food entrepreneur – in between her law and real estate careers, she founded one of the first farm to table Chinese restaurants in New York City, garnering significant press attention and commercial success. Born in Singapore and raised in Hong Kong, Kay has made New York home since 2006. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (B.Sc. Economics (Wharton), B.A. History, J.D.). She is admitted to practice law in New York.
