Changyang Liu

Changyang worked for the Early Childhood Education Project of Forum for World Education. She is also in a Master of Education program at Teachers College, Columbia University.

Changyang graduated from University of Toronto with a master’s degree in economics. After graduation, she had many years of investment banking experience in China, where she participated and managed in many deals that help listed and private companies financing in capital market. During these years of work, she began to have an interest in the education industry. Among the clients she worked with, the education industry company became a new growth engine of the market for their increasing cashflows. But she realized that education cannot be allocated sufficiently only by market, there must be enough attention and policy from the government. Her enthusiasm for the policy studies and reform shifted her from the private sector to the public sector. She had been a consultant in the World Bank for China’s urban financing policy study and advices. She was also a member of the Center of Public Policy and Leadership at Columbia Law School, where she acted as a policy consultant for non-government organization at Washington DC to promote potential litigation and policy reform.
