Francisca Melia is a European public affairs expert with over two decades international government affairs and industrial strategy’ experience, mostly in highly regulated sectors (energy, transport, engineering). She has extensive experience creating strategies to maximize the ability to influence, develop alliances and private-private/ public-private partnerships, generating trust and long-term stakeholder relationships in cross cultural environments.
She has a Law degree by the University of Navarra (Spain), a Magister in European Law by the University of Saarland (Germany) and followed Postgraduate Studies in International and Comparative Law at the Karl-Franzens Universität, Graz, Austria.
She has been Finance Law Assistant Professor at the University of Navarra and has taught Public Affairs, Strategy and Advocacy at Master Degree level at the prestigious IE Business School Instituto de Empresa, Madrid, Spain. She has been for a number of years pro-bono advisor to the Royal Spanish Engineering Association.
She has been interested in gender issues for over two decades and has been founder and member of the Board of NDSC Professional Women Association- Spain; Board member of “Professional Women International“ (PWI), Brussels; member of Woman in Energy Network (Brussels) and of the European Women Lawyers Association (EWLA).
As a trained Coach and mother of two teenagers, she is passionate about developing people’s innate potentials and long-life learning. She speaks five languages (Spanish, German, English, French and Dutch) and has lived, studied and worked in European cities such as Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Saarbrücken, München, Graz, Vienna, Brussels, Mechelen, Castellón, Pamplona, Valencia and Madrid.
