Sam is the Vice Dean for External Affairs at the Wharton School where he serves as chief
development and engagement officer by leading 100 staff to maximize affinity and fundraising for the School. He previously was Vice President for Development & Alumni Relations at
Bucknell University, where he worked from 2006 to 2010. His development experience also
includes working as Assistant Vice President for Development and Campaign Initiatives at the University of Pennsylvania between 2000 and 2006.

Sam served from 1999 to 2000 as the Managing Director of Administrative Services in the Wharton School Graduate Division where he had overall supervision of the MBA admissions, financial aid and career management offices at the School. He was the Wharton Dean’s Office first Chief of Staff from 1996 to 1999.

Sam’s worked as an undergraduate and graduate admissions officer earlier in his career. He served as Director of MBA Admissions and Financial Aid at Wharton from 1992 to 1996. He also worked as Director of MBA Admissions at Dartmouth College’s Tuck School from 1987 to 1992. Prior to working at Tuck, he was Associate Director of Admissions at Wharton from 1985 to 1987 and at Bucknell University from 1981 to 1985. Sam, a native of Philadelphia, is a
graduate of Denison University where he studied psychology.
